From Williams Bros "History of Franklin and Pickaway Counties,
Ohio" pg 198 - "In Circleville Twp is a cemetery on
the Crouse farm, where it has long been disused, unfenced and
neglected. It occupies the top of a high knoll which is covered
by trees and the field about it is cultivated but does not seem
to be very fertile, while here and there an apple tree shows that
the ground was once covered by an orchard. Nearby are some ice
houses that have been filled from the river on whose bank they
stand. At several of the graves, slabs of a kind of sandstone
are still standing; at others they have been broken off and are
lying on the ground, the stone being soft and flaky. Several of
the inscriptions have become quite illegible and the oldest that
can still be made out is the following: "In memory of Margaret,
wife of Aquilla Justus, who died November 9, 1813, aged 47 years."
I would assume that John Crouse and his wife, Catherine Umstead are also buried there.
