SONS MARRIED UMSTADT GIRLS. [So here comes another wagon train!!!!
And it’s a wonder anyone was left in the Perkiomen area!]
It is significant of the migration pattern of that era that Henry Flick and wife Susannah ( ca 1776 - 92 ) were neighbors of: Moses Rambo, Henry Davis, John & Adam Huber, Frederick Marsteller, Jacob Schneider, Michael & Mathias Zimmerman, John Frey, Wm. DeHaven, son of Jacob DeHaven and Eleanor Davis, the children of Wm. Brooke and Rachel Kendall and other Allied surnames from Montgomery Co, Pa, many of whom Peter Umstatt would have remembered.

THE FLICK FAMILY IN HAMPSHIRE CO. VA
Henry bought land from Daniel and Rosannah Jones Dec. 5th
1794 on the Drains of Cabin Run of Patterson Cr. near the Umstatts,
adj. to Frederick Purget, John Stack, Benjamen Newhouse. (Hampshire
Co. VA Land Records Bk. 9:568.)
20 Aug. 1800 a Henry (Sr. or Jr.) bought land on Patterson Creek
part that had been sold to Thomas Cooper in 1777, and part to
Peter Neau (Nyce?) in 1777. John Daily wit. early land rec.
Henry Flick is shown on the Hampshire Co. VA portion of the 1820 census. There is a mark which MAY mean foreign born, not naturalized. His wife's name was Susannah. (Elizabeth of PA in 1777 evidently died pre 1816, when the will of Henry was written.)
Henry's will, written 31 July, 1816, proven 1821, wit. by
John Spencer, Adam Brookhart names his children. Susanna died
about 1838, she willed to “her children”. (Hampshire
Co. Will Books 7:478 ; 1:211)
List of the purchasers at the Estate Sale of Susanna in 1838 includes
following surnames among others: Culp, Dobbins, Elifrits, Flick,
Hull, Huskel, John, Spencer, Stagg, Umstatt, Keller, Linkafusr.
